Professor Carole Abourached, PhD

Faculty Member


While teaching Environmental Science at the University of the Potomac, Carole is also a Program Officer at Counterpart International where she is backstopping a multi-sectoral program aiming at improving education, health and nutrition for students in Africa. Since 2017, Carole has been teaching at the University of the Potomac and has been a Math Instructor at Mathnasium.

Since 2014, she has supported different international projects in water, sanitation, health, nutrition and education sectors. Before that, she taught Chemistry and Soil Science labs at Oregon State University. Carole holds a PhD in Water, Biological and Ecological Engineering from Oregon State University and a Master’s degree in Irrigation from American University of Beirut. Carole is from Lebanon and is fluent in French and Arabic, and intermediate in Spanish. In her free time, she enjoys photography, travel, and TV shows.
