About Patricia Potter
After executive positions in privately held and publicly traded companies and at a major non-profit association, Patricia Potter returned to higher education, capping her career as president of California’s second largest, private, non-profit institution. During her presidency, she led the institution to its four greatest years of growth. She has over 30 years of experience in higher education.
She serves on the TCS Education System board’s Executive Committee, Finance and Audit Committee, Committee on Academic Collaboration, and the Ad Hoc Committee on Affiliations.
Active with the WASC Senior College and University Commission (WSCUC), she serves on its Eligibility Review Committee, chairs visiting teams, and has served on a WSCUC Commission Appeals Review panel.
She is a former board member of LEAD San Diego and the International Education Research Foundation, and a San Diego TWIN award recipient. Community service includes terms with the San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce Education Roundtable, Economic Development Council Workforce Partnership Committee, the Chicano Federation of San Diego County and the California Chicano News Media Association, the Women Together Board, and the Union of Pan Asian Communities Corporate Committee.
Ms. Potter earned a Fellowship in Historical Editing from the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation; a California Senate appointment to serve on the Professional Personnel Working Group for the Joint Commission to Update the Master Plan for Education, K-16. She is a Leadership America and Leadership California graduate.
