Darren Obazu

Dr. Darren Obazu is a seasoned Information Technology and Cybersecurity Advisory Consultant and Practitioner with over 20 years of working experience in IT and Cybersecurity within the Federal, State, and Private sectors. He has consulted and worked for various multinationals, including National Cash Register (NRC), Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas (NLNG), Deloitte and Touch, Compuware Corporation, ITSolutions LLC, Acentia LLC, and Nettek LLC, and currently with Makpar Corporation as a Cybersecurity Project Manager, managing one of Makpar’s Federal contract in Identity and Access Management.

Dr. Obazu obtained his B.Sc. in Computer Science from the University of Benin, Nigeria (1997), M.Sc. in Information Systems from Central Michigan University, MI (2004), and a Ms. Phil and Ph.D. in Applied Management and Decision Science (2020) from Walden University.

In addition to his academic career, are numerous IT certifications, which includes Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), AWS Cloud Practitioner, Certified AWS Academy Accredited Instructor/Educator, Certified Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Microsoft Professional (MCP), Microsoft Systems Engineer (MCSE), Oracle Database Administrator- 11g (DBA), IBM Requirements Analyst, Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL V3) and Green Belt in Lean Six Sigma.

Dr. Obazu is an active member of the Project Management Institute (PMI)Washington DC Chapter, itSMF USA – DC Chapter, and the International Information System Security Certification Consortium (ISC)². Dr. Obazu is the Co-Founder and CEO of Digitrans LLC and offers IT and Cybersecurity Advisory Consulting for organizations. He is currently an Adjunct Professor at the University of the Potomac, DC/VA Campuses and University of Maryland Global Campus (UMGC) at the School of Cybersecurity and Information Technology, lecturing in IT, Cybersecurity, and Cloud Technologies classes.
