Announcement from the Board of Trustees
Dear UOTP Community,
As Chair of the Board of Trustees, it is my great honor to announce the appointment of Andrea Kemp-Curtis as President of The University of the Potomac with all of the rights, privileges and authority attached. This decision was taken by unanimous vote by the board at its meeting on January 31, 2024.
The most important of all duties for any board is to carefully select the leader of the institution. This is a responsibility that the board takes seriously and In which considerable time was invested to ensure a wise decision. As you know, President Kemp-Curtis has served with distinction in an interim capacity for a little over two years. In that time, the excellence of the University has flourished. She has exceeded every expectation.
We have big dreams for the future of this University and for all of you who are part of this magnificent community. To achieve them, we need a leader who is imbued with integrity, commitment, devotion and a proven capacity to succeed in realizing our vision. A leader who will continue to enhance the academic reputation of UOTP for decades to come. The Board of Trustees is confident that President Kemp-Curtis is this leader and we are grateful to her for what she has done and will do for UOTP.
The Board is also proud of each one of you for the hard work you are contributing toward the excellence of our community. Being part of a rising university that has a vibrant, unique global imprint emanating from its foundation in the capital of the United States is a blessing that none of us takes for granted.
Congratulations, Madame President. The best is right in front of us. This is a great day for The University of the Potomac.
